This is an authentic Soviet Army KZS (Kostyum Zashchitnoy Setchatyy - Protective Mesh Suit), a lightweight camouflage oversuit issued to various elite units, including the VDV (Airborne Forces) and Spetsnaz. This specific suit is from the 1990 production year.

👉 Function: Originally designed as an NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) protective garment, treated with flame-retardant solution to resist the light flash of a nuclear explosion. Due to its light weight and excellent ventilation from the mesh fabric, it became universally popular as a summer maskirovka (camouflage) suit, often worn directly over underwear in hot climates (especially during the Afghan War).
