Russian RARE SSH-68M Reinforced Ballistic Helmet - Size 2

This is the SSH-68M (Stalnoy Shlem - Steel Helmet, 1968, Modified), a modernized version of the classic Soviet-era steel helmet. It represents a transition in Russian protective gear technology, retaining the iconic steel shell while significantly enhancing its protection level with modern materials.

The key distinction of the SSH-68M (GRAU Index 6B14) is the reinforcement of the helmet shell from the inside with aramid (ballistic) fabric. This modification drastically increases the helmet's fragment protection. 

The SSH-68M variant was primarily intended for the MVD Internal Troops (Ministry of Internal Affairs). It provides basic ballistic protection against pistol rounds and excellent protection against fragments. These modernized steel/composite hybrids are considered rare collector's pieces.
